Would really like to get a few pictures of an Oriole this year. I know of 2 spots that I have seen them around this time of year. One is right near work.

I really need to get off my ass and get some work done around the house (both inside and out).

Can't wait for the next Ren fair to start.

I need to pay more attention while bowling so I dont hinder the team and lose less games.

Well the good thing is the hotel was only about 6 1/2 miles down the road from faire.

We got to faire with enough time to hear the cannon as we were walking from the car.

One of the first things I noticed was that there were not alot of folks dressed in garb and the faire had been open for 5 weeks already. After I got my schedule/flier for the place the next thing I noticed was that the faire grounds are shaped kind of in a "j" shape. I was told by some folks that they are trying to make it all the way around and into a circle. The beginning part of the faire has some open space that could really use some trees also.

I did like the fact that when you get food they also serve drinks at most of the same stand instead of having to go to a drink only stand. I also did not see any bars set up like our faire, but they did server drinks like mamosa's from a cart stand.

Fellow maryland rennies that have been to this faire before also told me that the entertainment staff does not get paid, they work for tips only. They did not have a drench a wench stand but they did have a Insult both where you got to throw tomatoes and they had a roving Insultor named Shamus.

Got to see the Pyrates Royal and other musicians play, the NCRF has small pavillions set up thur out the faire for them to play at.

One thing that did surprise me was that they dont have a lot of rose peddlers like our faire. I saw 2 guys walking around selling roses and one girl at a flower stand. I did like the fact that some of the performers did not talk alot or at all. They made you feel what they wanted thur there body movement and facial expressions. I wish I would have sat down and watch more of the Ded Bob sho. The was definately plenty to see and watch including a star wars storm trooper in a kilt.

I personally think this is kind of cool.

I posted some of my pictures up on flickr from the trip to New Orleans last year and was sent an email a couple weeks back stating that a internet site called schmap was interested in one of my pictures that I took in the Bubba Gump restaurant. This photo has a bunch of friends in it like (going from left to right) lamia_prime,hotfix,ceosanna,lost_in_avebury,papercuppie,brute_force, and xpi. bryanl was also there but had stepped out just before I took this shot.

Well yestarday was my girls 7 year birthday.
I have had them since they were kittens.
I love them like there where my real kids.

I normally feed them dry food but for their birthday I gave them a can of fancy feast beef and a can of fancy feast turkey.

Oh Damn! The word came down this morning for everyone to move inside the fence at work. Something about terrorist(zombies) planning an attack. We really arent suppose to be near any outer doors or windows but I have heard some gun fire off in the distance and smell some really fowl odors in the breeze. Most of the phone land lines dont work anymore, and the internet connection is being really fickel. I hope my family and friends are doing o.k.

Well I went to a Haunted Forest this weekend down in Poolsville,Md. I have not gone to one in a long time. It only cost $20 for a 20 minute hike thru the haunted forest and they have other things you can do that cost extra like a haunted hay ride, death jump, spider walk, haunted bus and bat flight. It was very fun, they had several giant bon fires for you to stand around while waiting for your number to be called before you go thru and they had food and drinks to purchase while you wait. They had the lights set up in the woods just right so that it limited your vision and the actors could hide on the ground or in the bushes and they had different buildings set up for you to walk thru or by for people to jump out at you. My group had a total of 6 people, I got startled a few times but never screamed out loud, and I think everyone else got scared a few times too. There was a group of young girls behind us that were screaming thru the whole thing. Over all it was the best Haunted forest or house I have been thru in a long time.

Style vs No Ass

What is it with folks (mostly guys) wearing these big pants that look either like they have no ass or is too big for them? I just dont understand this style. In my personel opinion its a waste of material and looks stupid. If you are wondering what brought this on, there is a young gentlemen that is part of the cleaning staff that is wear pants like this. The only thing good I can say is, at least he is wearing a belt with the pants to keep them up.

This is about my cats and the 2nd floor of the house. A few times I did not get to the kitty litter in time so the cats felt the need to pee on the carpet upstairs. I cleaned up what I could and I personally did not smell anything but a friend had told me that she still smelled something when she came over one time when she took a tour of the house. Well I took friday off and I finally got around to tearing up the carpet and foam padding. After I started I was able to smell the urine again. I was really hoping that maybe I had some nice wood floors under the carpet but not I have this old gray with green streaks thru it tile ( probably with asbestos in it because the house was built in 1940). But at least the tile is easy to clean up if needed.

Weekend Fun

Well this weekend was very enjoyable. Saturday I showed up at the Ren Faire at around 11:30am and finally bought a pair of boots from son of sandlar to replace my rock catchers. Spent most of the day hanging out with friends and family. Then left around 5:45pm to go home and change and got caught up in a traffic jam on 695 just before exit 9 ( a pickup truck and suv hit). After getting cleaned up at home I headed out to ceosanna and hotfix's house for a game night. Being it was my first time there I got the tour, It is a very beautiful house. We were all kind of hungry so
Brute-force suggested chicken from aa place called Crisp & Juicy. It was very good and so where the not french fries.
The first game we played was called Run For Your Life, Candyman!, you are a ginger bread man and have to try and make it to the very end with as many body parts intacted as possible. The second game was Curses, during the game you have curses put on you (something like talk with a french accent or you cant bend your elbows) that you have to do to not get knocked out of the game. After 3 curses have been broken you are out, if you have any curses left you can give them to other players. There was 8 of us that played, ceosanna(heather), baobh(wendy), brute-force(tom), edgeds(scott), papercuppie(shannon), xpi(ash), brian and myself. It was very fun and got even better once everyone started getting the idea how to play the game even more. It ended with Heather and Shannon calling a tie. The third and last game was Zombies. That was fun too but lasted so long that everyone was getting very tired so it ended around 2 something in the morning.

Sunday it was back to the faire, in time to see Keri and Adam get married Pirate style at 11 am. Again I hung out all day with friends and family and then left before the thunderstorm that looked like it was on its way came in.
